OVERVIEW

The Eastern Sierra Pace and Scale Accelerator Program aims to increase local capacity for environmental planning in the Eastern Sierra by investing in dedicated professionals to build a locally based workforce in the area of environmental planning. The pilot project for development local environmental planning capacity to be funded by the grant is the Eastern Sierra Climate & Communities Resilience Project (ESCCRP), which is an approximately 56,000 acre fuels treatment project in the Mammoth Lakes area. By increasing the capacity and partnerships of environmental planning for forest restoration projects, the ESCOG endeavors to increase the pace and scale of wildfire mitigation projects throughout the region.

The Eastern Sierra Pace and Scale Accelerator Program is being implemented in partnership with the Inyo National Forest. The Eastern Sierra Pace and Scale Accelerator Program is funded through a California Department of Fish and Wildlife Proposition 1 Watershed Restoration Grant.
